2008 Resolutions

As 2008 ushers in, let me encourage you to commit yourself to the following:

Spend 30 minutes per day reading the Bible.
Spend 15-30 minutes per day in prayer.
Seek to memorize one verse of Scripture per week.
Seek to reach two families this year with the gospel.
Seek to be prepared for worship each time you attend services.
Seek to be accountable to one person for prayer and spending time in God’s Word.
Seek to be an encourager instead of a complainer.
Seek to be a peacemaker.
Seek to rejoice in the Lord in everything.

Matthew Henry said, “If Christ is the light, then it is our duty to follow Him, to submit ourselves to His guidance, and in everything take directions from Him. It is not enough to gaze upon this light. We must follow it, believe in it, and walk in it; for it is a light to our feet, not our eyes only.”

Happy 2008!

Steve,

This is a great list, and one that we should all strive to follow.

Here are a few more that I came up with as I read Romans chapter 6:

1. Consider myself dead to sin and alive to God (v11)

2. Don't let sin reign in my body (v12)

3. Don't present my body for sin, but present it daily to God as an instrument for righteousness. (V13)

Have a great 2008, God Bless,
Chris
